A Dynamic New Roof-Box From Thule

!±8± A Dynamic New Roof-Box From Thule

At the Automechanika trade show in Frankfurt in mid-September 2010, Thule, the leading Swedish car-roof accessory manufacturer, announced an exciting new high-end product, the Thule Dynamic roof-box.

Clearly aimed at skiers and snowboarders, the Dynamic's glossy look, sleek lines and high quality of construction also suggest a high price-point.

The Thule Dynamic comes in two models, the 800 and the 900, the primary difference being in the capacity - and of course the price.

The 800 model has a declared capacity of 15 cubic feet (420 litres), which translates to 7 pairs of skis or 7 snowboards up to a length of 71". The 900 model is somewhat more capacious at 18.5 cu ft (520 litres) and is slightly heavier too - 48lb as compared to the 40lb of the 800 model, and can take up to 8 pairs of skis or snowboards.

Both roof-boxes feature dual-side opening for easier loading, a central secure locking system and a non-slip interior mat for increased grip.

The range will be available in two colours: black and an exclusive-looking dark silver colour that Thule calls Titan.

The Thule Dynamic 800 and 900 are not among the cheapest roof-boxes out there, but luxury does come at a cost and it is likely that the Dynamic range will be another success for Thule, especially among those for whom style, security and quality has no price. Thule are clearly intending great things for their new range in the 2010/2011 ski season and from what we have seen, they are certainly on the right track.
